Rewari: District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) Dinesh Kumar was honoured with the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Good Governance Award–2025 for his effective media management and best public relations efforts. The award was presented on Thursday during the district-level Good Governance Day programme held at Bal Bhavan, Rewari, on the occasion of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 101st birth anniversary. The award was conferred by Bawal MLA Dr Krishna Kumar in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena. Praising Dinesh Kumar’s work, MLA said the Information and Public Relations Department plays a crucial role in conveying government policies and schemes to the public through the media, and Dinesh Kumar has been discharging his duties with sincerity and dedication. Dinesh Kumar has a long professional journey from journalism to government service. He worked as a reporter and bureau chief with various newspapers from 2003 to 2008. From April 2008 to December 2019, he served as Assistant Information and Public Relations Officer in Kosli, Bahadurgarh, Charkhi Dadri and Jhajjar. He later worked as officiating DIPRO in Jhajjar from December 2019 to July 2021. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he played an active role in disseminating public health information and was honoured as a Corona Warrior by the Jhajjar district administration. He also received the Best PR Award from the Jhajjar administration on August 15, 2021. From August 2021 to September 2024, he served as DIPRO in Rewari, contributing significantly to the implementation and publicity of Central and State government welfare schemes. He later served as DIPRO in Faridabad from September 2024 to March 2025, where he handled media management for the 38th International Surajkund Mela, earning appreciation from Tourism Minister Dr Arvind Sharma and senior officials. He also effectively coordinated media communication during Assembly and Municipal Corporation elections. Under the guidance of DC Abhishek Meena, Dinesh Kumar has also played a key role in organising events such as Gita Mahotsav and other major celebrations, besides managing media coordination during visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Haryana. On the occasion, Dinesh Kumar expressed gratitude to DC Abhishek Meena, stating that the recognition was possible due to his guidance and support.
