Welfare Initiative: CPR Training & Road Safety Awareness for Police Families

As part of the celebrations, a special programme was organized at Police Training School (PTS), Malviya Nagar for the families of Delhi Police personnel. A structured CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) training session was conducted to equip family members with essential life-saving skills so that they can effectively respond in medical emergencies. Alongside this, a lively and engaging Road Safety Nukkad Natak (street play) was presented in an interactive and entertaining manner to spread awareness about traffic rules, safe road practices, and responsible citizenship. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from 135 family members and children, making it both informative and memorable.

School Outreach Programme: Promoting Road Safety Among Young Students

Recognizing that students are the future road users of the nation, Delhi Traffic Police also conducted focused road safety awareness sessions in schools to inculcate safe habits at an early age. Awareness programmes were organized at MCD Primary School Dayalpur and Lovely Vista School Nirman Vihar, where approximately 273 students and 14 teachers actively participated. The sessions included interactive demonstrations on traffic signs and signals, briefings on pedestrian safety, awareness about the importance of helmets and seatbelts, and engaging Road Safety Quiz competitions. Students enthusiastically participated, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their views on responsible road behavior, making the sessions lively and impactful.

Reaffirming Commitment Towards Safer Roads in Delhi

To maximize public outreach, on-ground awareness drives were conducted at major traffic intersections including Raja Harishchandra Chowk, Narela, Dwarka Sector-1 Red Light, Dwarka Sector 1, PTS Malviya Nagar, and Lado Sarai. During these drives, traffic officers directly interacted with more than 13,300 road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, two-wheeler riders, and motorists. Pamphlets were distributed and essential safety guidelines were shared regarding traffic signal compliance, lane discipline, mandatory use of helmets and seatbelts, avoidance of mobile phone usage while driving, and overall road etiquette. These direct engagement efforts significantly strengthened awareness and encouraged responsible driving practices among the public. The observance of Delhi Police Week 2026 by Delhi Traffic Police was marked by meaningful engagement, welfare-oriented initiatives, and extensive awareness campaigns. Through these dedicated efforts, Delhi Traffic Police continues to reaffirm its unwavering commitment to ensuring safer roads, promoting traffic discipline, and building a secure and traffic-compliant environment for all citizens of Delhi.
