CP Satish Golchha Leads Commemoration Day Parade; Wreath Laid in Honour of 186 Martyrs

Former Governors, Police Commissioners Join Delhi Police in Remembering the Fallen Heroes

New Delhi : The Delhi Police today held a Commemoration Day Parade in the remembrance of Police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty while serving their respective forces between 01.09.2024 and 31.08.2025. The Parade was held at Parade Ground, New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp, Delhi.

The Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Satish Golchha read out the names of martyrs of Delhi Police (08) and State and Central Police Organizations who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, during the period.

In all, 186 police personnel including eight of Delhi Police breathed their last while serving in their respective forces. State and Central Police Organizations-wise details of personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty during the mentioned period are:- Andhra Pradesh-05, Arunachal Pradesh-01, Assam-02, Bihar-08, Chattisgarh-16, Gujrat-03, Jharkhand-01, Karnataka-08, Kerala-01, Madhya Pradesh-08, Maharashtra-01, Manipur-03, Nagaland-01, Odisha-02, Punjab-03, Rajasthan07, Tamil Nadu-06, Telangana-05, Tripura-02, Uttar Pradesh-03, Uttarakhand04, West Bengal-12, Chandigarh-02, Jammu & Kashmir-14, Ladakh-01, Assam Rifles-02, BSF-23, CISF-06, CRPF-08, ITBP-05, SSB-05, NDRF-01, RPF-09 and Delhi08. On 21st October 1959, a small troop of Indian policemen who were stationed at Ladakh for the security of the nation was suddenly ambushed and attacked by Chinese soldiers who were hiding in the mountains.

During the attack, 10 Indian police personnel were martyred. In order to pay homage to these brave martyrs we remember them on this day. Simultaneously, we pay homage to all those brave personnel who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation in the last one year.

The CP, Delhi,  Satish Golchha paid homage to martyrs by laying wreath at the memorial. Ex-Governors Smt. Kiran Bedi & Dr. K.K. Paul, retired Police Commissioners T.R. Kakkar, B.K. Gupta,  S.N. Shrivastava, Rakesh Asthana & Sanjay Arora; and serving & retired Delhi Police officers & person also paid homage by laying wreath at the memorial. A two minutes silence was observed in remembrance of martyrs.
