New Delhi- The Gartex Texprocess India Expo 2025 was inaugurated on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam, opening new opportunities for India’s textile and garment industry.
The event was inaugurated by Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, with Rakesh Sachan, MSME & Khadi Minister of Uttar Pradesh, as the Guest of Honour. Also present were Himani Gulati, Director, MEX Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., and Kundan Kumar, Resident Commissioner of Bihar.
Spanning three days (August 21–23), the expo features 200+ exhibitors and 600+ brands, including several international players.
Addressing the gathering, Manohar Lal Khattar said:
“Indian textiles are known for their superior quality, but high costs limit their reach. We must focus on technology, cost reduction, and attractive designs to meet demands from villages to cities. With states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh as drivers, India can emerge as a global textile hub.”
On the occasion, Kundan Kumar, Resident Commissioner of Bihar, highlighted the state’s potential:
“Bihar offers abundant natural resources, skilled manpower, and strong policy support. We aim to make Bihar an attractive investment destination for the textile sector, ensuring both industrial growth and employment.”
